Defense Strategy

  1. Wind is your friend: Airboats are fast enough (35mph+) that bugs can’t land on you while moving. Pontoons are slower, so you are more exposed.
  2. Cover up: Light-weight, long sleeves are better than a gallon of DEET.
  3. Time of Day: Dawn and Dusk are feeding frenzies. Mid-day tours have fewer bugs.
